This Is Our Story

OOD House.jpg

Our founder, Jacob Weaver is an avid traveler with a bold and ambitious goal to disrupt the travel/hospitality industry by creating a unique brand specializing in the development of design-forward adventure retreats, eco-resorts, and regenerative communities that give back to a wide

variety of meaningful causes and offer one-of-a-kind experiences to all guests and owners. Our properties have modern amenities and a wide variety of accommodations including biophilic glamping structures, tree houses, cabins, safari tents, tiny homes, mirror homes, geodesic domes, yurts, hobbit homes, luxury custom homes, and more. We also aim to provide seller financing ownership opportunities for everyone from first time home buyers to experienced and accredited investors. Jacob is also dedicated to giving back to the communities we work with through his mentoring and leadership development organization that he started after losing his eye to a drive-by shooting when he was fifteen. At WYLDBNB, we love to support local schools and businesses, non-profit organizations, and a wide variety of causes that our team believes in ranging from environmental protection to putting an end to human trafficking.

In 2017, shortly after completing graduate school while running an international school in Providence, Rhode Island, Jacob purchased his first vacation rental property on a small lake in the foothills of the Adirondacks with every penny to his name. He renovated that home with his younger brothers and furnished/decorated it with antiques and art he acquired while traveling the world and treasure hunting at garage and estate sales throughout the northeast. This quickly became more than a side hustle and led to over 50 listings by 2020. In 2021, Jacob took a leap of faith and purchased a 70+ acre mountain overlooking Brant Lake in the Adirondacks where he first discovered his passion for the outdoors. In 2022, he co-founded Wild Retreats Hospitality with some friends to open glamping retreats in Montana and the Adirondacks. In 2023, he stepped down from his position as Founding Head of School at Fusion Academy, launched WYLDBNB, and partnered with OOD Hotels headquartered in Estonia which has several resorts throughout Europe. In 2024, Jacob and 3 of his partners (John, Lukas & Dave) established the Cedar River Eco-Resort on a former 330+ acre golf course with a private lake and river frontage in the heart of the Adirondacks.

Jacob is also currently co-developing and raising capital for a unique property in Jim Thorpe, PA which is less than two hours from NYC and just over an hour from Philly. Jim Thorpe was founded in 1818 as Mauch Chunk, a name derived from the term Mawsch Unk (Bear Place) in the language of Munsee-Lenape as a reference to Bear Mountain and an extension of Mauch Chunk Ridge that resembled a sleeping bear which has since been changed heavily by 220 years of mining. It is now a quaint town with a European vibe and a great music, food, craft beer, wine, cocktail, and small retail shop scene. It also has a scenic railroad and is short distance to two ski resorts, Lake Harmony, and several other adventure excursions such as whitewater rafting, mountain biking, fishing, hiking, horseback riding, and much more.

Our Montana property is only 15 minutes from Glacier National Park and fitted out with several geodesic domes, cabins, moon domes suspended in the trees, a tavern/tap house, outdoor stage for live music and campfire gatherings and much more. It is also steps away from the trailhead to Stanton Lake right across the street from the Flathead River with world-class fishing and rafting. Our Adirondack properties consist of The Bolton Lodge & Suites in the heart of Bolton Landing Lake George, Pine Mountain Eco-Resort in Brant Lake, Cedar River Eco-Resort in Indian Lake, and Frontier Town in North Hudson which is halfway between Lake George and Lake Placid on the Schroon River where Johnny Cash and June Carter once performed. We are also developing properties in Rhode Island, Puerto Rico, New Zealand, Mexico, and Honduras.
